The Alternative European Champion Trail

Although the EFL table provides a reliable guide to which team has been the most consistently successful over the course of the 2007/08 season, there is an alternative way to assess which side should be able to describe themselves as the best in Europe. At the start of the season, Milan were acknowledged as European Champions following their success in the 2006/2007 Champions League, so we will follow their results until their first defeat, at which point their conquerors will take over their title and we will follow their progress until they next lose a match. Following this trail, we can see which team can currently describe themselves as Champions of Europe.
